Calcutta-born, Madrid-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer weyvir announces his forthcoming single, “Streets of Love, Pt. 1,” arriving September 9. Blending indie rock, alternative pop, power pop, and surf rock, the track captures the restless feeling of being unable to let go of someone when you think you should.
Written nearly eight years ago while weyvir was still in high school, “Streets of Love, Pt. 1” began with its chorus, inspired by heartbreak and the frustration of carrying feelings that could never quite be said out loud. From there, weyvir built the rest of the song around that initial idea, creating a story that has followed him from his teenage years into his life in Madrid.
“I haven’t ever been able to give up on this song since I wrote it, and I’m finally giving it the ending it deserves.”
That idea of rejecting destiny runs through “Streets of Love, Pt. 1.” Rather than framing love as something predetermined, weyvir looks at the choices, missed opportunities, and unresolved feelings that bring two people together. Sonically, the track draws from a wide range of influences. With over 25,000 streams across his solo output and collaborations surpassing 1 million streams, weyvir has steadily built a presence through both his solo work and live performances.
