Ava Renn announces her electrifying debut album Lightning Child, a fearless fusion of rock, alt-pop, and raw emotion. It’s a collection that crackles with intensity, where dirty guitars meet aching ballads, and every lyric hits like a heartbeat.
Writing since age 11, and raised by two writers, Ava’s voice carries the grit of experience and the vulnerability of someone who’s faced life head-on. After a transformative journey across Texas, she returned to the high desert to record Lightning Child, nine days of explosive creation with a five-piece band.
The album channels the primal energy of The Kills, the fire of PJ Harvey, and the haunting intimacy of Fiona Apple. Each track pulses with Ava’s bold vision: unflinching, unapologetic, alive.
Track Highlights:
Hands – A sultry, bipolar journey through the bitter stages of grief post-relationship.
Dog Eyes – Animalistic and funky, stepping into a new era of personal power.
None the Wiser – Shoegaze-style reflection on repeating harmful cycles.
The Wind Chimes – Reflective meditation on relationships never fully understood.
See What I’ve Seen – Raw rocker, a preemptive protection of the inner child.
Woman of the Wind – Gentle, poetic journey toward self-acceptance after heartbreak.
6’s to 7’s – Dark rocker exploring the entrapment of desire and greed.
Still Through it All – Bluesy, intimate, closest to country on the album.
Lightning Child – Melodic rocker celebrating self-actualisation and fiery spirit.
The Clearing – Haunting piano/string ballad about the silence following loss.
