Lan'do
Born in Toronto but raised until adolescence in Jamaica, both cultures have heavily contributed to Lan'do's sound and sense of identity as a musical artist.
Campaign Objective
Having never utilised Press as part of a music release strategy we were tasked with promoting ‘Man Like Me’ EP to an international audience via Press, as well as focus track ‘Formula’ to a specifically UK audience via radio.

‘Man Like Me’ is the debut EP from the artist. It's a highly personal array of tracks, with Lan’do using this release as a diary where he could vent and unpack the memories of his life as a teen in Rexdale, Toronto and the impact this had on him. Lan’do has heavy influence from his family, growing up with his grandmother singing in choir, to listening to his mother’s R&B collection.
Our work saw Lan’do pick up notable press in the highly regarded Earmilk, as well as Wordplay, Plastic, Purple Melon and Dominionated, amongst many others.

Radio
We worked on securing radio play for the lead track from the EP: 'Formula' feat. Deelo Avery. As far as a storyline for the song goes, the artist explains it best in his own words: "it's just about talking your shit. I feel like as an artist, I've began to carve out my own lane. Try as much as you want you won't sound like like me, you don't have the "formula" so to speak. It's me stretching my legs lyrically and experimentaling with a more feral delivery."
'Formula' resonated well with a host of presenters. The track has mellow, dark vibes, with it's hard-hitting flow and ethereal soundscape set to 808s, and connected with lovers of R&B, Hip-hop and Rap.
BBC Radio 1xtra - Airplay came from the likes of this huge British digital radio station, which broadcasts black music and urban music, including hip hop and R&B and is a sister station to Radio 1. We were delighted that DJ Semtex supported Lan'do's track on his show.
KISS FRESH - Part of the KISS network, a UK station that plays the biggest hits across genres.
Capital Xtra - The UK's biggest Hip-hop station.
Westside Radio - West London's number one youth radio station playing the best in Hip Hop, RnB, House, Chart, Grime, Garage, DnB, Afrobeats and Desi Beats. The station also carries community based programming aimed at young listeners. Lan'do was playlisted by presenters Bhavotelli & Jem McCarthy.
Riverside Radio - Launched in 2015, an award-winning digital community radio station covering the London boroughs of Lambeth, Wandsworth, Richmond and Merton.
Soul Roots Radio - UK-based ethical radio, shaped by artists, powered by DJ's. Their Mission: to bring Soul Roots musical journeys to as many people across the world as possible.
Rinse FM - Rinse has dominated London's radio airwaves for 20 years as a hub of the capital's thriving urban music community.
