Colby!
Colby! is an emerging artist from Fort Worth, Texas, creating rich, tasteful alternative pop. She works closely with her brother, a producer and Berklee College graduate, forming a tight creative partnership, with Colby handling melody and lyrics, and her brother on production. There’s a quiet familiarity to the dynamic, reminiscent of the early Billie Eilish and Finneas setup.

Colbys Rise to Fame
CAMPAIGN OVERVIEW
Before partnering with Decent’s music marketing team, Colby! had no prior releases, no fanbase, no algorithmic presence, and no label support.
Over the course of a long-term, multi release music marketing campaign, we worked closely with her team to build a strategic foundation from the ground up. Spanning four singles across seven months, the campaign combined playlist pitching, digital PR, and fan acquisition ads — helping turn a completely unknown artist into one with real momentum, industry recognition, and a major label deal.
CAMPAIGN OBJECTIVE
The objective was to grow her visibility, increase engagement, and establish a credible presence across streaming platforms and press so that Colby! would progress their music career.
We incrementally built momentum through their first few releases via a structured music marketing strategy that included Spotify promotion, music PR, and paid social ads.

Key results
Securing press for Colby! was crucial to position her as an emerging new voice in alternative pop, reaching both key industry tastemakers and her target audience.
This is essential for gaining trust, increasing visibility, and driving early career growth. We hit relevant high-tier placements on the likes of music news, EARMILK, Tagg Magazine, Fame Magazine, amongst many others.

We helped Colby! grow her industry connections
Industry gatekeepers can be hesitant to support up and coming artists, features in established and credible music publications have a significant impact on their decision making, and helps to reassure them that they’re backing a recognised act.
We hear time and time again of instances where artists go on to sign major deals with labels, land rotations with radio that earn significant royalties, chosen for festival slots, win funding and a wealth of other benefits after artists obtain reputable press.

OBJECTIVE 2.0
Land Editorials with Playlists
Colby’s track ‘Gone to Bed’ was featured on key editorial playlists across major platforms, including Apple Music’s New In Pop (position 34 in 86 countries) and Spotify’s Fresh Finds Pop (position 17 with 215,855 followers). Additional placements on popular Spotify playlists such as Trending Hits 2024, Indie Vibes 2024, Lana Del Rey <3, and Morning Mood Booster helped expand her reach to audiences totalling hundreds of thousands of followers. These playlist inclusions significantly boosted her visibility and streaming growth during the campaign.
Independent Playlists
Independent playlists place an artist’s music into real listening environments where discovery is driven by taste rather than algorithms alone. This context builds authentic engagement and sends stronger behavioural signals to Spotify, supporting long-term visibility and listener trust.
